Ordering a personalized leather belt is easy, but knowing a few basics can help you get it right the first time. Whether it’s a gift or something for yourself, here’s what we recommend you keep in mind.
1. Double-check the name or initials
It sounds obvious, but you'd be surprised how often we see spelling mistakes in orders. Since we engrave exactly what you type, be sure to check for typos, spacing, and punctuation. If it’s a nickname or something unique, add a note so we know it’s intentional.
2. Know your belt size (not your pants size)
Belt sizes aren’t the same as pant sizes. We size belts based on the measurement from
the buckle to the middle hole. The best way to get it right? Measure a current belt from the tip end of buckle prong to the hole you use most. You can check our measure guides here.
3. Choose your leather color and width
We offer several belt widths and colors. If you're pairing the belt with jeans or western wear, a 1 1/4” or 1 1/2” width works best. For younger kids or dressier outfits, a slimmer belt might be better. Color can change slightly based on lighting, so check the product photos closely.
4. Pick a buckle—or go without
Most of our belts come with a basic buckle included, but you can easily swap it out later. If you're ordering for someone who already has a favorite buckle, you might want to choose a belt with snaps and skip adding a new one. You can check our buckle collection here.
5. Think about the occasion
Belts make great gifts for birthdays, rodeos, holidays, or even as keepsakes. We’ve engraved everything from cowboy nicknames to memorial dates. If you have something specific in mind, let us know—we’re happy to help guide your order. We created some gift option ideas to help you, You can check our gifts for her and gifts for him collections!
6. Personalization is permanent
We engrave the name directly into the leather so that it won’t peel or fade. But that also means it can’t be changed once it’s made. That’s why it’s important to get the spelling and sizing right.
We’re always here to answer questions. If you’re unsure about anything—from name length to leather style—reach out before you place your order, check our contact page, and we will be happy to talk to you. We’ve been making these belts by hand since 1973, and we want yours to turn out just right.
